Heavens gates opened for Lilly Cannon, 89, on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. She was born in Indianapolis on August 8, 1929 and became a Christian in 1956.
She is survived by her children; Bill, Carol, Linda and Jeff, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Rich and Brian were waiting for her in Heaven.
Lilly retired from Lane Bryant. She worked as a caregiver at Home Instead Senior Care when she was in her 80’s. She always selflessly put her friends and family first and was a blessing to everyone she knew.
A great sense of humor, an indomitable spirit and an unshakable faith got her through many tough times in her life.
“I love you, be careful, get some rest, eat something good and behave” became her parting words during her recent hospital and rehab stays. These words are now a part of every family goodbye.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Hospital would be appreciated.
Services will be on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 12:00 pm. Visitation at Indiana Funeral Care 2433 E Main, Greenwood, IN 46143 from 10 till 12.

Grandma~The relationship we shared was like no other. From the moment I entered this world I stole your heart. I always teased you saying “I’m your favorite right?!” You were mine!!! Saying good bye is going to be hard but I saw how you were hurting and I would never want to keep you here for me. I know that you were ready for heaven and to see all your family, especially Uncle Richie, Brian and Grandpa! I know you are eating everything you want and it’s not PURÉE! Love to heaven and back❤️!
I love you, I will be careful, I will rest, I will eat something really good and I will TRY to behave (I’m not sure about that last one though lol)

Lilly was a dear friend of mine. We worked together at Lane Bryant for several years. After we both retired we still stayed in touch even though we lived in different states. She was a precious person and I loved her dearly. I lost my Mom in February and am still grieving for her. But we know they are with Jesus now and free of pain. And we will see them again. May you feel God’s loving arms around you now and in the days ahead. Love and prayers.

Carol and family,
All of the lovely tributes to your Mom attest to the fact that she was a beautiful woman. I remember a fun luncheon we had with her at the Taste of Thai Cafe in McCormick.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and that we wish you peace in the coming days.
Hugs,
Maureen & Jim

Dear Cannon family:
Take comfort in knowing Lilly has the hope of living again in Paradise on earth when there will be no more crime, sickness or death- only peace, righteousness, and perfect health! Jehovah – “the God of all comfort” assures us of this. John 5:28, 29, Psalms 37:9-11 and 2 Corinthians 1:3,4.
